File Preparation
General Guidelines:
(Check these prior to submitting files)
- All text is outlined or rasterized (for Photoshop documents)
- All text is 1/8" from final trim size
- All images are 300 dpi
- All images and colorspaces are set to CMYK or Grayscale
- All spot colors used are set to CMYK or Grayscale
- All bleeds are 1/8" outside the final crop size
- All documents are built to the final trim size except for Photoshop documents with bleeds, which have to be built with the bleeds in the document
Acceptable file formats:
- EPS:
- All text should be outlined
- The color space has to be CMYK
- Bleeds 1/8" on all sides
- Document size set to actual trim size
- TIFF:
- Image resolution set to 300 dpi
- CMYK color mode
- Flatten all layers
- Rasterize vector data
- Do not use alpha channels
- Do not save tiff with LZW compression
- Canvas size should include bleeds (1/8" on all sides)
- JPEG:
- Resolution 300 dpi
- CMYK color mode
- Canvas size should include bleeds (1/8" on all sides)
- Save As a tiff before submitting file or embedding file in a design program
- PDF:
- Set to trim size with crop marks
- If the files bleed it must have a bleed of 1/8" on all sides
- CMYK color space
- All images should have a resolution of 300 dpi
Acceptable Programs:
- Adobe InDesign
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
- Quark Xpress 6.5
We can accept native files, but a PDF proof must be approved before we proceed with the job. When submitting native files please be sure to include all fonts and links used in the document. If fonts and links are not present it will delay the proofing process and may incur additional charges.
